Southwest Orlando Eye Care

I was staying at Universal & woke up with severe eye pain. I called around trying to find someone who could see me the first few places all told me to go to urgent care. When I called SWOE they told me to come in whenever I could. I expected a wait time as I was walking in but they got me back and started addressing the pain basically immediately. Ruby & Dr. Nevada took time to exhaust every possible option & accurately diagnosis see the issue. The medication he prescribed was working within hours! They were both so kind and welcoming & made sure to explain everything. They also said multiple times I could reach back out if I had any issues or questions. As I said I am not local they helped me to find a pharmacy that I could walk to. When I found that the good Rx app had a cheaper price they were more than willing to switch where the prescription was sent to. Finally, I do not have eye insurance & was worried with what I would be paying for the whole experience & it was so responsibly priced. I really can not say enough great things about the experience and especially Ruby & Dr. Nevada. If you are local or down on a trip I would definitely recommend checking in with them for eye care!

Amazing service from all the staff there-front desk was nice and efficient. Special shout out to Marina who was sweet and eased my kid’s anxieties about doctors. Dr.Nevada was amazing as well- eloquent and well versed in optometry. A great listener and doctor. My child didn’t need glasses and wasn’t persuaded to purchase or get anything. What we did walk out with was the wonderful feeling when you are unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised. DEFINITELY recommend this office for your eye care needs.

I was a new patient, and on my first visit the entire staff made me feel welcome and comfortable from the beginning to the end of my appointment. I was completely satisfied with the service and care I received, as this was the first place where the professionals wanted to know how my eye health was and not just give me a prescription. I highly recommend it, and I would like to thank everyone, including Marina who was super attentive to the smallest details and all my questions.

I've been a patient at this office for many years. The staff are friendly and courteous. The equipments are modern. Dr. Nowell and his student assistant are very professional and knowledgeable. They answer all my questions and concerns. They even recommended an OTC eye drop that was better than the one I've been using. I felt that I've received the best eye care. And believe me I've been to other places that were not so good. The only suggestion for improvement would be to control the noise level in the waiting room. On top of the noises from patients, there was one female front office staff that was talking very loud unnecessarily.

I’ve been seeing Dr Nowell since he opened his own practice more than 20 years ago. He’s very knowledgeable and takes his time and the staff is always super friendly. I highly orecommend this practice.

I have the utmost respect and admiration for this Eye care provider. Dr Nowell and his team are very receptive, friendly and professional. The receptionists promptly respond to you with a nice smile when greeting you. The young man that assists you with selecting glasses and purchasing is fantastic. He spends time explaining the aspects of your insurance plan and finds out your particular needs. I absolutely recommend them and will continue my eye care with them for the foreseeable future. The office is bright and very clean and they have a great range of eye glasses to choose from, however you are given a copy of your prescription should you wish to obtain them elsewhere

I've been a patient with SW Orlando Eye Care for over a decade and am very impressed with Dr. Nowell. He cares about the overall health of his patients to include vision. He once counseled me on the importance of not ever missing my BP medication, after checking me out. I also had an eye infection and he was able to see me the same day, and provide treatment. He also does not try to overcharge patients for unnecessary items and will even try to save the patient some money. Thank you SW Orlando Eye Care!

At my last appointment, Titasina was a 3rd year Optometry student examining my eyes. She was very friendly, thorough and professional during my exam. Dr. Nowell came in after and concurred with her findings. Great to know that you're being taken care of by the best eye doctor I've ever had to date.

Very happy with our experience here. Dr. Nowel has treated both my daughters and while one still under his care, we are pleased and comfortable with him and the whole staff. I first went there for an emergency visit for my little one and they were able to get her in the same day and Dr. Nowel examined her and prescribed what she needed. They are always attentive and accommodating.

You guys are truly the best. From start to finish, this has been an amazing experience. You didn’t just hand me a pair of glasses and send me on my way—you took the time to make sure I could actually see. What really stood out to me was how everyone in the office showed they genuinely care—front desk, interns, doctors, and even management. That level of attention and kindness is rare, and I appreciate it more than I can say. Thank you all for your patience, compassion, and for making sure I left with more than just glasses—I left with clear vision and a great experience.

I am an out of towner, who was a walk in with a bad eye irritation. The staff was able to get me in ASAP. It wasn’t a long wait for being a walk in and I was treated professionally and without any issue!
